Hello Everyone

Sorry I missed you last week. I hope you all have a spectacular Thanksgiving and enjoyed your time with friends and family!

This week I want to focus on the importance of having support and encouragement.  From the time we come into this world, we need support and encouragement. As an infant we need our parents to support our heads, cloth us, feed us, change us, etc. We are totally dependant on our parents.  Although, the intensity of the support may change as we grow, it does not stop…it just takes on a different form.  In fact, encouragement and support maybe the 2 most important psychological factors in the human make-up. When we do not have these factors starting at a young age it could affect our self esteem as we become adults.

There are specific times in life when you need a shoulder to cry on, need to get advice about an important decision you may need to make, or simply sometimes you may just need a listening ear.  As human beings we need to know that we are supported, by someone or something is helping us along the road of life.   Your support network may be your family, friends, church, and co-workers or even in some cases a complete stranger.

A good support network and encouragement can completely change the lives of people, can build self esteem and assist you in making reasonably good decisions. When you have a good support network, we tend to lead good lives!

I bring this topic of support and encouragement this week because I felt we need to be reminded that you should not be feeling like you live on an isolated island in your personal life or in your business. Just as we need support and encouragement in our personal life …we must have it in our businesses as well for it to grow and strive.

This week’s coaching activity:

Check your support system. Write down all those who support and encourage you in your personal life and business. Then reflect on how blessed you are to have support and encouragement.

If you feel like you are on an “isolated island” begin today outreaching, practice asking for help for what you need.  Take time to write down the names of those who have supported you in the past.

Remember your support will not always be your family and friends. Look outside your immediate circle when you need to.

Have a blessed day!

Christine

Have you ever had one of those days, when you just don’t feel like doing anything with your business?  You have handed out a million business cards, handed out flyers, called all your family and friends and shared with them the service and the opportunity, but for some reason your business is not moving as fast as you would like. Today by God you have made up your mind you are not doing ANYTHING!

We all have  these days from time to time, but when you are in business , you must check your self and make sure you don’t have those days to often…in the same week!

Could you imagine where your business might be if you had  days like this for a whole week? Especially when you are at the start of your business? You would get no where, business would stay stagnated… your competitors would leave you in the dust!

I offer this scenario because, there maybe some of you out there with these kind of days happening right now! Don’t stay stuck in the “I just don’t feel like it” days when you are on a mission to change your life! You have to stay focused everyday and do a little of SOMETHING, even when you don’t feel like it.

Of course the day will come when you have made the money you want and can afford the life style you want to live, but until then, stay focused, remember WHY you chose NMC and be mindful to develop SMART goals.

This week check your goals and see if they are SMART. If not, engage in the activity below:

Setting goals to achieve your dreams!
Your Goals should be S.M.A.R.T

S = Specific - Goals should be straightforward and emphasize what you want to happen. Specifics help us to focus our efforts and clearly define what we are going to do.

M = Measurable - How will you see when you reach your goal?

A = Attainable – Your goal should be within reach so that you will stay committed to it.

R = Realistic - Realistic, in this case, means "do-able."

T = Timely - Set a timeframe for the goal. Putting an end point on your goal gives you a clear target to work towards

Here is an example of using the SMART goal criteria: I want to increase my income by 40% by before June 25th, 2010.

Write a Goal you would like to accomplish using the SMART Goal Setting Criteria

Take your goal setting one step further:

What steps will you take to accomplish your SMART goal (your action plan):

Creating who you want to be is like painting a picture- it is never truly finished and we are continuously adjusting our goals and ambitions in life. As the painter of your life’s canvas, most of us do not spend enough time trying new themes or colors. We carry on with the same subjects and use the same paints over and over, and expect the picture to come out as beautiful as it was the first time you painted it.

Over time, of doing the same thing, your self-perception narrows. When our self-perception is narrow, we tend to limit our thinking, our actions, and our life. It makes us think some things are beyond our reach, that we should not even try to reach them.

Let me ask you …

Have you ever let a great opportunity pass you by, because you felt you were not good enough? Ever declined to give a presentation, because you felt people would think you sound foolish? Ever canceled a date you had planned for a month because you were self-conscious about how you would look dressed up?

Try these 5 steps this week:

  • Take baby steps with trying new things- start doing things you previously rejected because they were just “not you”
  • Start off with something small , but significant
  • Learn a new skill of some kind
  • Start using  “ I can” statements instead of “ I can’t” statements
  • Stop limiting yourself, start believing you are destined for greatness!

Something in your life has led you to take on this new business with NMC.  Do you remember your why? Remember, it is your why that motivates you to hand someone your business card, call a friend and tell them about what you are doing, pass out flyers, etc.  So always keep it in the fore front of your mind.

Ask yourself, am I painting my canvas with the same paints? Am I replaying the same theme over and over? Take some time to really search deep and answer these questions, because if you are saying YES to either of these questions…It maybe time for a clean canvas with NEW paints!

If you want help with finding your new colors for your canvas…call me, we can talk!

Happy Millions!

Today, I will be focusing on what is and what is not Personal Development.   Sometimes, people throw this term around to freely with applying any “substance” to it.

One thing for sure Personal development IS hard work! Yes, it is difficult sometimes to look at yourself and admit your short comings. But to truly improve your life you have to be CLEAR what you are working with!

So being honest about what is going on in your life that maybe acting as a barrier to you improving your finances, health, relationships, and /or spirituality requires you to get honest with what is going on.  Although, people around you maybe telling you what they see, it is not until you see it does change begin.  I can not tell you what the “IT” is you have to figure that out.

Engage yourself in this brief activity:
Take out a piece of paper and write down 3 things that maybe acting as a barrier to you in getting your business to the next level. Then under that write 1-2 sentences committing to yourself what you will start to do tomorrow to change your circumstance. Lastly, post this where you cab refer to it each day.  (If you need help with this or wish to dig deeper, email me (Christine) at getacoach@njalone.com)

One thing for sure is this…each of you who decided that you wanted a better life style and felt NMC could be that vehicle to help you get there, made a conscious decision that whatever financially you are experiencing right now …was not working for you. Congratulations on taking the first step!

But guess what … there are more decisions to be made.  Each day you wake up and look at yourself in the mirror, you have to decide is today going to be a money making day or not. If you decide that it is a money making day… YOU have to get on your grind and do the necessary active to grow your business, hence in turn will, change your financial situation, improve your life style, etc.

Personal development IS NOT a quick fix. Like everything worthwhile takes time. So don’t beat yourself up if you are not where you intended to be in life. Your blessing is coming. You have to believe and have faith that God has not failed you and your due diligence will be paid off.  Stand firm on what you want for your life and go out there and make it happen. Oh… don’t forget to ask for help if you need it.
